Class Descriptions

All Levels - This class is open to all levels of experience and physical ability. Instructors will provide modifications for beginners and advanced variations for those seeking a challange

Ashtanga Yoga - Ashtanga yoga is a traditional system of yoga consisting of six set series of postures that are designed to be followed in sequence. The first series which will be our focus is known as the Primary Series. This is a challenging practice, but students are encouraged to rest when necessary -- gradually building up endurance over time. Although modifications will be given, this is not a beginner's class. You must attend the Intro to Ashtanga workshop or have instructor's approval to participate.

Fundamentals - This is an introductory class. The pace is slower and the effect more gentle. This class is for any student new to yoga or for students less physically active.

Gentle Yoga - Gentle Yoga is open to all levels, but especially for those interested in a slower paced class with restorative poses and the use of props.

Hot Yoga - An energetic and powerful practice that will recharge one's batteries as well as cleanse the body as toxins are sweated from the body in a heated environment.

Hot Dynamic Flow - This is just like our All Levels Hot Yoga classes except that the first hour of the class will be dynamic vinyasa flow and the last 30 minutes will consist of deeper poses held for longer periods.  All Levels are welcome.

Pre-Natal Yoga - This is an on-going course for expectant mothers that focuses on particular postures to aid the mother during pregnancy, childbirth, and post-partum.

Power Lunch Yoga- This 45 minute Vinyasa yoga class is an abbreviated version of our All Levels class for those who don't have a full hour or more to commit. The special drop-in rate for the power lunch class is $8.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga - The word Vinyasa literally means "to place in a special way," and refers to the body's movements being "placed" with the breath. Breath synchronized movement makes this style of yoga an energetic and rejuvenating experience. A posture is held for a counted number of breaths before it flows into the next like a moving meditation. This class is open to all levels, but some prior yoga experience or moderate physical ability would be beneficial. You should be able to support the weight of your body in your hands (as in downward dog position.)
